Covid-19 Safety

The safety of our community at Creative Spaces London is paramount. We have put in place a clear set of protocols for staff, participants and parents to ensure we are safe. These protocols follow DfE guidance and it is essential that we all adhere to them.

DfE Guidance:

Preventing the spread of coronavirus involves dealing with direct transmission (for instance, when in close contact with those sneezing and coughing) and indirect transmission (via touching contaminated surfaces).

We can help to reduce transmission of the virus by:

  • Minimising contact with individuals who are unwell by ensuring that those who have coronavirus symptoms, or who have someone in their household who does, do not attend our workshops.

  •  Cleaning hands more often than usual - wash hands thoroughly for 20 seconds with running water and soap and dry them thoroughly or use alcohol hand rub or sanitiser ensuring that all parts of the hands are covered.

  • Ensuring good respiratory hygiene by promoting the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach.

  • Cleaning frequently touched surfaces often using standard products, such as detergents.

  • Minimising contact and mixing by altering, as much as possible, the environment and timetables.

Our staff have been trained on how to help prevent and reduce infections during the summer project. To keep things running as smoothly and safely as possible, we ask that you and your children also adhere to the following guidelines.

Requirements of Children

  • Children must not attend the Summer Project if they are feeling unwell (with a new or continuous cough, high temperature, loss of taste /smell).

  • Children should practise regular hand washing as instructed by their workshop leader.

  • Children must stay in their designated group ‘bubble’ throughout the day and avoid mixing with other groups.

  •  Each child should use their designated areas as directed by their workshop leader.

  • Children should walk in a single file when moving around the building.  Children should not hold hands or touch as much as practically possible.

  •  Children should eat their lunch in the canteen within their group bubble.

  • Each child must have their own drinking bottle for water

Parents, how you can help…

  •   Please monitor your child/children closely for any symptoms of Covid-19 and inform the Project Manager (rachel@creativespacesldn.com)  immediately if your child is unwell (with a new or continuous cough, high temperature, loss of taste /smell). DO NOT bring your child into the Summer Project if they, or any member of your household, have any of these symptoms.

  •  Any symptomatic child or adult in your household should self-isolate and arrange for a test as soon as possible.  You must inform the Project Manager of the result of the test as soon as it is known.

  • If the result of a test is negative the child may return to the Summer Project as soon as they are well enough to do so. If it is positive, the other members of their ‘social bubble’ will be sent home and advised to self-isolate for 10 days.

  •  Please be available to collect your child if required.  Be aware that the Summer Project may have to close if we have insufficient staff to ensure safety or if key members of staff are absent.

  • Please ensure your child does not bring unnecessary personal belongings into CCC. (They must have their own water bottle).

  • You may provide your child with a small, easily cleaned pencil case with their own stationary if you wish.

  • It is extremely important that all children follow the guidelines set by CSL. If your child is struggling to do so, we will contact you to discuss this. Please do take the time to talk through CSL’S Behaviour Code with your child prior to attending our sessions.

We really appreciate your help with keeping the Summer Project safe and running. However, if there is anything that you would like to discuss regarding the above please do not hesitate to contact Rachel@creativespacesldn.com.
