Who can apply for the free summer project?
This programme is aimed at children & young people in school years from reception to Y11 who are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals and either live in the London Borough of Hounslow or attend school in the London Borough of Hounslow. If you are currently not in receipt of benefits-related free school meals, but think you may be eligible, you should contact your childs school or the schools free school meal team on schoolmeals@hounslow.gov.uk .
My child is aged 7 or younger & receives free school meals, can I apply?
Children in reception, year 1 and year 2 in England’s state-funded schools receive a free meal under the Department for Education UIFSM policy. To access a HAF place YOUR CHILD MUST ALSO BE ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS RELATED FREE SCHOOL MEALS.
Where is the CSL Summer Project held?
- The project takes place at Cranford Community College, High Street, TW59PD
What are the hours?
- 11am - 3pm, Monday - Thursday (excluding bank holidays) .
What are the dates does the project run?
Week 1 - Monday 24th July - Thursday 27th July .
Week 2 - Monday 31st July - Thursday 3rd August .
Week 3 - Monday 7th August - Thursday 10th August
Week 4 - Monday 14th August - Thursday 17th
Week 5 - Monday 21st August - Thursday 24th
What should my child wear?
- Comfortable clothes that are appropriate for creative activities such as painting and drama. (please ensure your child is wearing sunscreen on hot days).
What should my child bring?
- Please send your child with water bottle and sunhat.
What about lunch?
- Lunch will be provided by Cranford Community College and served in the canteen. We will cater for vegetarian and halal diets, though if your child has any other dietary needs or allergies please do contact us in advance.
Where should I drop off and pick my child up?
- Please drop your children to the main reception gate where they will be met by a member of staff. Please arrive promptly for both drop off and pick up. .
What activities will my child be taking part in?
Children will be taking part in creative wellbeing activities including Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Mindfulness, Movement, Drama and Games. They will be in groups of around 20 and will be working with 2 workshop leaders in each activity..
